(KZN.RU, August 12, Ksenia Shvetsova). On September 8, Kazan will have additional elections of deputies of the Kazan City Duma in the Kulaginsky single-member constituency simultaneously with the elections to the State Council of the RT. For today, five candidates have been registered to participate in them, said Farit Garaev, the chairman of the city Election Commission, at the Business Monday.
The right to nominate citizens as candidates for deputies appeared on June 15 after the official publication of the decision to declare additional elections. It was possible to apply for elections until July 14. During this period, 6 candidates were notified of the election commission: 4 self-nominated candidates and 2 more candidates nominated by regional branches of political parties.
On August 6, the territorial election commission of the Privolzhsky district of Kazan, which was entrusted with the powers of the district election commission, completed the registration of candidates. All of them submitted the necessary documents and subscription lists. As of August 7, 5 candidates were registered in the Kulaginsky single-mandate constituency.
“One candidate was refused registration because of the lack of necessary documents and the insufficient number of signatures submitted in support of the candidate”, explained F. Garaev. “At the stage of nomination and registration, the election commissions provided the candidates with all the necessary assistance. There were no complaints or appeals from the participants in the election process”.
From August 10 to midnight on September 7, pre-election propaganda will be held on television and radio broadcasting channels and in periodicals.
Providing good reason, citizens will be able to vote ahead of schedule in the territorial election commission. They will have such a right from August 28 to September 3. And from 4 to 7 of September, early voting will be possible at the precinct election commission at the place of residence.
Information on the time and procedure for voting is on informational posters and in invitations for voters. All additional information about the elections to the Kazan City Duma is available on the website of the election commission and on the website of the district election commission.
