<p> (KZN.RU, July 29, Alina Berezhnaya). In Kazan European Triathlon Championship gathered about two thousand athletes from the whole world. In the competitions 12 athletes presented the Russian national team. Today Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports, told about the results of the championship at the Business Monday. </p> <p> The main phase of the championship was held on July 27. 64 professional athletes from 27 countries of the world took part in the competition. The swimming phase with 650 meter length was held in Kazanka River, the cycling race with 20 km was through the streets of the city with the Kazan Kremlin and the main attractions. The competitive day was ended with 5-kilometer sprint across the Kremlin embankment, as S.Vostrikova told. </p> <p> The Russia's national team showed a worthy result in the competitions. The fifth place among women was conquered by Anastassia Abrosimova, the seventh place among men was won by Igor Polyansky. As well as in the championships Vyacheslav Vasilev was a part of the national team for the first time, he won the 18th place. </p> <p> For the second day of competitions, on July 28, 450 athletes-amateurs from 20 world countries took part in the sports event. Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee, was among the participants. He became the fourth in his age category and set your personal record, reducing it for 11 minutes. </p> <p> This weekend the amateur competitions Ironstar 113 Kazan 2019 will be held as well: swimming - 1,9 km, cycling race - 90 km, and running - 21 km. 950 people took part in it. </p> <p> Evgenia Lodvigova, the first deputy head of the Kazan Municipality, noted that the European Triathlon Championship confirmed once again that Kazan is a great place suited to the greatest sport contests. </p> <p> “The greatest international sport contests in the open air are always responsibility for the city, and the success depends on not only the sports infrastructure, but also the improvement of streets.
