More than 500 participants will gather in Kazan theatrical festival “Nauruz” in June

Residents and guests of Kazan will see performances of 29 theaters from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries.

(KZN.RU, March 22). From 1 to 8 of June, the XIV International Theater Festival of Turkic Peoples “Nauruz” will take place in Kazan. Residents and guests of the city will see performances of 29 theaters from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and the national republics of Russia. Special guests of the festival will be artists of Nottara Theater from Romania with the performance “Moliere” based on the works of J.-B. Moliere and M. Bulgakov. The director of the play is Roman Feodori (Krasnoyarsk).

This year the festival will be held under the auspices of theatrical art of Bashkortostan. In total, 6 theaters from Bashkiria will take part in the festival: the Academic Drama Theater named after M. Gafuri, the Salavat Bashkir Theater, the Bashkir State Puppet Theater, the Ufa Tatar Theater “Nur”, the Sterlitamak Theater and Concert Association, the National Youth Theater named after M. Karim. The repertoire of the festival is traditionally distinguished by its diversity. It includes foreign classics, ethnic parables, and modern dramaturgy. In total, the festival will bring together over 500 participants.

The performances of the XIV “Nauruz” will be presented at 7 theater venues in Kazan: the large and small halls of the Kamal Theater, the large and small halls of the Puppet theater “Ekiyat”, the K. Tinchurin Theater, G. Kariev Theater, and The Theater of Young Spectator. The performances will also be played on the square in front of the Kamal Theater and on the embankment of Kaban Lake.

A showcase will be held for the first time in the history of “Nauruz”. Producers from France, Germany, Norway, Hungary, Iran, Turkey, and Georgia will be invited to view the festival performances, reports the press service of the Kamal Theater.

From 10 to 16 of June, the International Festival of Student Performances (national studios) “Nauruz School” will be held under the auspices of the International Festival “Nauruz” and within the framework of the project of the Union of Theater Workers of the RT to support theatrical education in Russia. The festival will include performances of students of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov (Alma-Ata), GITIS (Moscow), the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts (Yakutsk), the Ufa State Institute of Arts, the Kazan Theater School, and other institutions.
