May 9: Kazan celebrates Victory

The main event of the day will be the Victory Parade on the Millennium Square.

(KZN.RU, May 9). Today is Victory Day. Kazan will solemnly celebrate the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In honor of the holiday, citizens and guests of the city can attend an extensive program of events.

At 8 am, the ceremony of laying wreaths and garlands of military glory will take place in the Archangel and Arsk cemeteries, and at 9 am, in the Pobedy Park.

At 9.15 am, the opening of the monument to workers of the rear will be held in the Pobedy Park.

The main site of the celebration will be the Millennium Square. Solemn parade and the theatrical program will be able to see anyone. At 9.30 am, the solemn passage of the troops of the Kazan garrison and special forces will begin on the square. This year, residents and guests of the city will be able to see the Victory Parade near the walls of the Kazan Kremlin. The parade will be attended by over two thousand military personnel and cadets of the military school. At the end of the parade, guests will enjoy the concert program and the performance of choir together with choreographic groups of 1400 people who will perform the song “Victory Day”. The gala concert will begin at 11.30 am.

At 10 am, a festive program starts in Pobedy Park, which will last throughout the day. Until 11 am, a festival “Heirs of Victory” will be held there, the work of children's interactive sites is planned until 3 pm. From 11 am to 12 pm, a festive parade of young men and law enforcement detachments of Kazan schoolchildren will be held in the park. From 12 pm to 2 pm, a gala concert of the children's festival “Victory Fanfare” will take place. From 2.30 pm to 6 pm, a concert program with performances of creative bands of the district is waiting for visitors of the park. From 6 pm to 7 pm, a concert program “RioRita, the joy of victory” will take place.

At 10 am, a meeting and action “Immortal Regiment” will begin on the Walk of Glory in Yudino.

At 1 pm, the gathering of the participants of the common action “Immortal regiment” starts at the intersection of Karl Marks and Tolstoy streets. This year the route of the column remained the same. The procession will take place along the main streets of the city.

At 3.30 pm, a concert program of art masters will begin on the Millennium Square.

Festive events on the Kremlin Embankment will be held from 4 pm to 9 pm on this day.

A thematic concert is scheduled at 5 pm in the park on Sovetskaya Square, and at 7 pm a concert program of art masters and youth bands at the stadium “Kazan Arena”.

At 9 pm, the concert program “Singing Kazan” will begin in the same place, and the festive day will end with colorful fireworks at 10 pm.
