The Mayor of Kazan inspected the progress of work and met with local residents
The largest yard territory in the city, which is being improved this year under the Our Yard republican program, is located in the 11th micro-district in the Privolzhsky city district. More than 103.5 square meters will be repaired. Kazan Mayor Metshin inspected the progress of landscaping and met with residents.
Landscaping under the Our Yard republican program started in the 11th micro-district in 2023 – at the yard on Julius Fuchika Street, last year the territories on 2, 2A, 5A, and 7A Kul Gali Street were renovated.
This year's renovation work will cover an area of more than 103.5 square meters for residents of 15 houses. In total, there are more than 7,000 people living in these houses.
“The first phase of the project will be completed before the May holidays. The yards around 15 buildings will be improved, but these improvements will benefit all 8,200 residents in the neighborhood. 4.2 kilometers of new footpaths, 12 playgrounds, and 11 sports grounds will be constructed. Thanks to the initiative of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, we will also repair the yard areas of 464 residential buildings this year,”- said Ilsur Metshin.
During the development of the landscaping project, special attention was given to creating convenient pedestrian connections to public transportation stops and shops.
The yards will have all the necessary infrastructure for recreational activities for residents, from toddlers to elderly. According to the plan, 12 playgrounds and 11 sports grounds will be built in the yards. These will include play complexes, swings, sandboxes, elliptical trainers, and more. Quiet recreation areas with chess tables and benches will also be provided for elderly residents in the yard.
The multifunctional sports grounds will be covered with tires that were donated by the local residents.
It is planned to install approximately 300 new small architectural structures and outdoor equipment, as well as 124 lighting poles.
In addition to the construction of new footpaths, approximately 6,900 square meters of sidewalks will be repaired.
Residents of the buildings have already begun to landscaped the surrounding areas. For example, Tatiana Kononova, who has lived in house on Julius Fuchika Street, 97 since 1981, has planted flowers near the entrance.
