The All-Russian action “Georgian Ribbon” starts in Kazan on April 25

Until May 9, the main symbol of Victory will be distributed at several spots throughout the city.

(KZN.RU, April 22, Alina Berezhnaya). On April 25, the All-Russian action “Georgian Ribbon” starts in Kazan on Bauman Street. Until May 9, thousands of volunteers will distribute 15 thousand of the main symbols of Victory. Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs, told about the action and other events dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day at the Business Monday today.

The action on the distribution of ribbons will begin on April 25 with the Victory March in commemoration of the end of the spring Week of Good. At 9.30 am, volunteer organizations of Kazan universities will be marching on Bauman Street. After that, the activists of the Kazan branch of the “Victory Volunteers” will take over for them. Spectators and participants of the action will see a concert dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Victory Day celebration. The culmination of the event will be the ceremonial cutting of the 100-meter Georgian ribbon, said A. Faizov. Before May 9, residents and guests of Kazan will be able to get a ribbon and learn how to wear it on Bauman Street near the clock, near the Family Center “Kazan” and the Kamal Theater. Victory symbols will also be distributed in park Gorky, Petrov, Uritsky, Krylya Sovetov, Pobedy, and Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. One of the Kazan enterprises will weave 5 thousand kilometers of Georgian Ribbon for the holiday.

Also, the “Victory Volunteers” organized celebrations on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin. On May 7 at 1 pm, a giant inscription “Victory!” will unfold on the square near the Kul Sharif Mosque. Everyone can take part in the flash mob.

On May 8, the action “Waltz of Victory” will take place there. “Specially trained volunteers will perform a series of waltzes that were widely popular on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, and then invite random viewers to the dance”, said A. Faizov. The beginning of the event is scheduled for 1 pm.

And on May 9, activists of youth organizations will be the main organizers of the national procession “Immortal Regiment”. This year, 500 volunteers will accompany the inhabitants of the city during the march. Participants will gather at the intersection of streets Karl Marks and Tolstoy. Traditionally, the Regiment will pass along the main streets of the city: Karl Marks Street, across Lobachevsky Street, past the Park “Chernoe Ozero”, and along Kremlevskaya Street, said A. Faizov.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, addressed the heads of districts, heads of large enterprises, teachers with a request not to forget about the veterans and to give them due attention. “Veterans do not go unheeded during the year. But on the eve of May 9, traditionally this attention should be tripled. I ask to visit the veterans personally so that no one was deprived. They should feel warm, respect, gratitude”, concluded the Mayor of Kazan.
