On May 24, the city stage of the All-Russian tournament “Leather Ball” starts in Kazan

The opening will be attended by 24 teams of young players.

(KZN.RU, May 23). On May 24, the grand opening of the city stage of the All-Russian tournament among young footballers “Leather Ball” will be held at the Kazan stadium “Trudovye Reservy”. 24 teams of 430 people are scheduled to attend the opening.

Teams participating in the tournament are formed on the basis of secondary schools. All games are played in modern Kazan stadiums such as the football stadium of the Central Stadium, Tasma, “Raketa”, stadium “Kozhany Myatch”, “Trudovye Reservy” and others.

The match of the final city stage between the teams of the older age group (2004-2005 year of birth) will be held after the opening ceremony.

The final games and the awarding will take place on May 31 at the stadium “Basko”.

The All-Russian tournament “Leather Ball” is the youth competitions in football in Russia. The first tournament was held at the initiative of the legendary Soviet goalkeeper Lev Yashin in 1964 and took place only in one age group. Today, these competitions are organized for three age groups and are the most popular football competitions in the country.

The beginning of the tournament is scheduled for 2 pm, reports the Committee of Physical Culture and Sport.
