20.8 thousand Kazan residents took part in the “Ski Track of Russia”

The 93-year-old Pyotr Yaldiryakov was the oldest participant, the 3-year-old Artem Vorobiev was the youngest one.

(KZN.RU, February 9). Today, the All-Russian Mass Ski Race “Ski Track of Russia” took place in Kazan. This year 20.8 thousand people took part in the races. The 93-year-old Pyotr Yaldiryakov was the oldest participant, the 3-year-old Artem Vorobiev was the youngest one.

The traditional sports festival took place in three city sites. About 6 thousand residents of the Sovetsky, Privolzhsky, and Vakhitovsky districts came to skiing in the Gorkinsko-Ometievsky forest. About 5 thousand people came to the site in the floodplain of the Kazanka River on Gavrilov Street. The residents of Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts mainly gathered there.

The main start of the “Ski Track of Russia-2019” in the capital of Tatarstan was given in Yudino at the stadium “Lokomotiv”, where 10000 cross-country skiing lovers came.

Along with Kazan citizens, professional athletes took part in the event, who crossed a distance of 5 or 10 km depending on the age category.

Renat Sirazutdinov took first place among the boys born in 2001 and younger. The second place was taken by Nikita Zakharov, the third – by Aizat Khalilov. Arina Lisina was the fastest among the girls of the same age category. The top three winners also included Irina Mishina and Vlada Ivanova.

Vitaly Talmanov became the winner among men born in 2000 and older. The second place was taken by Yaroslav Byakin, the third – by Rustam Faizrahmanov. Galina Suslova won the women's race in the same age category. The second place was taken by Elena Gorokhova, the third – by Anna Korobova. The winners were traditionally awarded medals, certificates, and valuable prizes.

In addition, the VIP races took place as well. Sergey Korostelev, the deputy head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT, took first place in the race of heads and deputy heads of republican and federal bodies of state power among men. The second place was taken by Lenar Gabdurakhmanov, the head of the State Traffic Police of the RT, and the third place – by Rifkat Minnikhanov, the director of the GBU “BDD”

Irek Mukhametshin, the head of the Financial Department of the Kazan Executive Committee, won the city VIP race. Eduard Abdullazyanov, the rector of Kazan State Power Engineering University, was the second at the finish, and Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth Affairs, finished third. Roza Akhmadieva, the acting rector of the Kazan State Institute of Culture, was the first among women. The silver winner was Darya Sannikova, the director of the Tourism Promotion Committee.

Various entertainment events were organized at the sites with performances by creative bands to create a festive atmosphere.

The “Ski Track of Russia” has been held in our country every year since 1982. The ski race was held for the 15th time in Kazan.
