The ongoing exhibition “Alexander the Great. The Way to the East” was visited by about 67 thousand people
Today the Hermitage-Kazan Center celebrates its 18th anniversary. Over the years, the State Hermitage Museum has brought 13,509 exhibits to the exhibition halls of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve. In total, more than 1.6 million people visited 25 unique exhibitions.
Cooperation between Kazan and the State Hermitage Museum began more than 20 years ago. The first exhibition “The Treasures of Khan Kubrat” opened in 1997. On August 23, 2005, the the Hermitage-Kazan Center began its independent work. The guests were presented with the exhibition “Golden Horde. History and culture”.
Hermitage-Kazan gave Tatarstan citizens and visitors of the republic the opportunity to get acquainted with world masterpieces, the Press Office of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve reports. Among the main exhibition projects: “From China to Europe. The Art of the Islamic World” (a joint project of the State Hermitage Museum with the Louvre), “Spanish Art”, “French Impressionists and their Era”, “Matisse. Picasso. Chagall. The Art of Western Europe 1910-1940”, “Catherine the Great. The Golden Age of the Russian Empire”, “The Golden Age of Flemish Art” and others.
The exhibition center has created a full-fledged cultural and educational environment with a remarkable information resource. Hermitage-Kazan works with schoolchildren of different ages with interactive excursions.
Accessible environment was created for the exhibition “The Golden Age of Flemish Art” and a series of inclusive programs for blind and visually impaired people, as well as in Russian sign language, was launched.
Now the Hermitage-Kazan Center is hosting the exhibition “Alexander the Great. The way to the East.” It was visited by about 67 thousand people. The exhibition presents 400 exhibits about the eastern campaign, the spread of Greek culture and the greatness of art. The exhibition will run until October 8.
