The Mayor of Kazan met with leaders of student community and discussed issues of self-government and international projects, as well as creativity and volunteerism

The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin met with leaders of the student community of the city at the City Hall today. The participants discussed public, creative and volunteer projects, as well as initiatives aimed at developing the youth environment of the capital of Tatarstan. During the meeting, it was decided to establish a BRICS+ Student Council, as well as hold a summer campus for volunteers as a platform for the exchange of practices.

«Kazan has always been and will remain a student city, since the time of Leo Tolstoy and Vladimir Lenin. When people hear “Kazan”, they immediately remember the university. It was established by decree of Emperor Alexander I, and this predetermined the development of Kazan as a city of students, - said Ilsur Metshin. - I am happy to see that today such bright and talented students study here, who continue to glorify our Kazan. Thank you for meeting me and for bringing so much energy and creativity to the student life of the city.
