A lively Chinese culture class held at Multidisciplinary lyceum No.187

Second Secretary of the Consulate general of the People's Republic of China Liu Xuejiao leads interactive session for Kazan schoolchildren

Multidisciplinary lyceum No.187 in Kazan continues to strengthen international ties and develop educational diplomacy. On January 29, 2025, the lyceum was honored by a visit fr om Liu Xuejiao, Second Secretary of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China. The meeting with students fr om engineering classes took the unique format of a lively, interactive 'journey lesson,' allowing the schoolchildren to gain a deeper understanding of China's culture and traditions.

This event was a natural continuation of the successful cooperation initiated in November 2024 at the International Forum "SPROUTS: Russia and China – Mutually Beneficial Cooperation." A memorandum was signed then with the Wancheng High School affiliated with Tsinghua University. Subsequently, in autumn 2025, a delegation from the lyceum visited Guangzhou, wh ere they explored contemporary Chinese education, which blends tradition with high technology. Now, Chinese culture itself has 'come to visit' the students of the Kazan lyceum.

During the journey lesson, Ms.Liu Xuejiao unveiled the profound philosophy of China through simple and familiar objects. The program included several unique thematic 'stops.' The students learned that chopsticks are not merely eating utensils but a symbol of wisdom and cooperation. At the stop titled "Chinese philosophy in a cup of water," the guest spoke about the harmony and tranquility that form the foundation of the national culture. The children were also introduced to the elegance of Chinese silk, the intricacy of paper cutting, the aesthetics of fans, and the mysteries of ancient scrolls. Special emphasis was placed on the "Friendship boat," symbolizing the importance of cultural exchange between nations.

To conclude the meeting, Ms.Liu Xuejiao prepared a touching surprise for the lyceum students: each class received a toy panda as a gift — a symbol of peace and a national treasure of China. This gift will remind the students of the warm encounter and the strengthening of friendly ties.

The visit by the Second Secretary of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China marks another step in developing the partnership between Lyceum No.187 and Chinese educational institutions. Previously, on December 19, 2025, the lyceum served as a platform for an online exchange with schools in China, discussing topics of technological education and joint projects utilizing artificial intelligence. The lively lesson with Ms.Liu Xuejiao complements this interaction with a humanitarian dimension, which serves as an important foundation for future joint initiatives.

Such meetings contribute to the formation of a unified educational space, broaden students' horizons, and prepare them for life in an environment of intercultural dialogue. Lyceum No.187 has once again confirmed its status as a modern and progressive educational institution, wh ere learning extends beyond the classroom and becomes a bridge between countries and cultures.
