Kazan to compete for the title of the digital city in Russia

Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don and Novosibirsk are also competing for the title.

The All-Russian contest “Digital Breakthrough – 2021” for the title of innovative city continues. The winner will receive the Runet Award in the nomination “Where//The leading digital region of the country”. Kazan is competing for the title.

Internet users will evaluate such criteria as development of IT infrastructure in the city, training facilities for experts, availability of innovative projects and startups, support for IT business and attractiveness for professionals. According to the preliminary results of the voting, Kazan enters the top three along with Moscow and St. Petersburg. Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk are also among the applicants.

“Digital Breakthrough” contest – is one of the flagship projects of the presidential platform “Russia – Land of Opportunity”, which is being implemented under the Education national project. The main goal is to bring together the young professionals for the digital economy from all over Russia. During seven months of the contest, the participants solved 879 cases under specific hackathons. The final of the third round of the competition will take place on December 2-4 in Innopolis. More than one thousand participants will take part in it. They will solve 12 cases from the major market participants, the Press Office of the Tatarstan Ministry of Finance reports.
