A meeting of the Anti-Terrorist Commission took place at the Executive Committee of Kazan
Security measures will be strengthened during the Day of the City and the Republic, as well as on September 1 and the elections. Flammable liquids, piercing and cutting objects and thermos bottles are prohibited at the festive sites. These and other measures for anti-terrorist protection and citizen safety during the holidays were discussed at a meeting of the anti-terrorism commission at the Executive Committee, led by the head of the committee Rustem Gafarov.
In particular, the head of the Department of Culture Azat Abzalov urged citizens to avoid bringing large bags on the City Day. Inspection of such items at the entrance may cause inconvenience, and it is prohibited to bring weapons, alcoholic beverages, energy drinks, aerosols, cans of compressed gas, tripods for cameras, medications without a valid prescription, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, scooters or other sports equipment (with the exception of wheelchairs and rehabilitation equipment) to the event. Information about the list of prohibited items will be posted at the entrance to the venue.
A discussion also focused on preparations for the beginning of the new school year. The buildings were inspected, safe evacuation routes were identified, and emergency plans were developed, anti-terrorism equipment was also checked.
Additionally, security measures will be enhanced on the day of the election for the Parliament of Tatarstan and the deputies of the Kazan City Duma.
Rustem Gafarov gave instructions to the law enforcement agencies to inspect all polling stations and their premises. Each polling station will also have mandatory evacuation instructions and signs pointing to the nearest shelter.
Additionally, Rustem Gafarov instructed the heads of districts and law enforcement officials to organize further checks to ensure compliance with anti-terrorism security requirements at public areas, ground and underground transportation systems, and trade and social facilities.
