The season of summer projects aimed at supporting and promotion the Tatar language and culture starts in the capital of Tatarstan. In the near future, the festivals Tree of Life and Itil will take place, as well as different contests. Harakatte – barakat contest has already begun on Kaban Lake. Free classes are being launched for those who want to learn the Tatar language. This was announced by the Deputy head of the executive committee Guzel Sagitova.
“The City Hall has created many opportunities for the development and support of native languages and traditions. We need to promote them and bring information to every resident. I am sure there are many people who want to join our projects, so do not stop, go ahead, we will support all your initiatives as much as possible,”- Rustem Gafarov, head of the Kazan Executive Committee, addressed Guzel Sagitova.
The educational project Tree of Life will take place as part of the Year of the Family in Russia, the organizers will present family rituals of different ethnic groups. Two events are planned this summer – “Seven weddings of the peoples of Tatarstan” and “Childhood traditions”.
The first of them will take place on July 3 at 18:00 in Gorky Park, where folklore groups from the regions of Tatarstan will present interactive programs with fragments of the traditional wedding of indigenous peoples living in Tatarstan.
Thematic workshops for children and adults will take place in the park, as well as a photo exhibition “Wedding rituals of the peoples of the Volga region through the eyes of photographers of the XX and XXI centuries”. Guests will also be able to find their soulmate on the interactive platform with a parade of brides and grooms. The Kazan Turkic-Tatar group “Rivayat”, the state folklore ensemble “Bermyanchek”, the song theater “Ak tirak”, the ensemble “Krasnaya Gorka” will perform.
“Childhood Rituals” will be held on August 7. The guests of the holiday will be able to see the variety of traditions associated with the birth of children, charms and folk games of the Volga region.
On August 10, Gorky Park will host the 4th festival of new culture of the peoples of the Volga region “Itil”. The venue will have a main music stage, a fair, a food court, a children's area with master classes, and a lecture hall.
“At the end of August, we will hold a theatrical performance “Voices of Kazan – Kazan Tavyshlary”, which the townspeople called “Poems on balconies,”- Guzel Sagitova said.
“Harakatte- barakat” takes place every Thursday on the Kaban embankment. The main feature this year is folklore dance games.
Free classes are being launched for those who want to learn the Tatar language. Two groups will be organized: for beginners and advanced. Beginners are invited in the building of the Executive Committee of Kazan, and advanced in the amphitheater in the Black Lake Park.
