The facility is 75% ready

The reconstruction of the facility on Podluzhnaya Street, where the Teacher's House will be located, is nearing completion. The facility is 75% ready: the main construction work has been completed, interior decoration is underway. It is planned to open the facility at the beginning of summer. The landscaping of the square nearby is being completed as well. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction at the facility.

The Teacher's House is being established by the decision of the Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin. Renovation work in an empty building on Podluzhnaya Street began in September 2024. During this time, the foundation and piles were reinforced, the walls were restored, and new utilities were laid. The front of the building was lined with red brick with an antique effect to make the building look harmoniously. The designers used the exposed brickwork in the interior decoration to emphasize the authenticity of the space.

The building area is 950 square meters. It has a conference hall, a ceremony hall, creative laboratories, studios and coworking areas. The facility will be equipped with modern multimedia equipment: interactive panels, LED screens and video conferencing systems. The work of the Teacher's House will focus on four main areas: the Leadership Center, the Support Center for Young Teachers, the Pedagogical Research Center, and the Personnel Center.

More than 17,000 teachers work at Kazan's schools, kindergartens and supplementary education institutions, and we want to create decent conditions for them. The House will become the headquarters of teachers, a place for learning, exchange of experience and discussions, as well as a platform for recreation and personal communication of teachers. There are few similar centers in Russia, and we can proudly say that we are creating a unique nationwide platform for our teachers», – said Ilsur Metshin.

Finishing works are currently underway at the facility, ventilation, air conditioning and security systems are being installed.

A park will appear nearby the Teacher's House, which will connect Podluzhnaya Street and Kremlevskaya Embankment by a pedestrian route.

For reference, more than 17,000 teachers work at Kazan schools, kindergartens and institutions of supplementary education. Last year, another 1,200 people joined the education sector. The share of young teachers is 30%, which exceeds the national figure (24%).
