Deputy Head of the Kazan City Municipality Evgenia Lodvigova met with the Mayor of Izmir Tunç Soyer on the eve of the IV Culture summit of the World Organization “United Cities and Local Governments” (UCLG), which is being held in the Turkish city. They discussed the role of cultural heritage in the life of cities.
Evgenia Lodvigova thanked the Mayor of Izmir for the warm welcome and invited to the next meeting in Kazan. She noted that this Turkish city is a long-standing partner of the capital of Tatarstan, it promotes the exchange of best practices between cities and local residents. Earlier, the deputy head of the Kazan municipality spoke at one of the key sessions of the UCLG Culture Summit “Local Governments and Cultural Heritage”, the Department of International and Inter-Municipal Relations of the Kazan City Duma reported.
In turn, Tunç Soyer shared his impressions of the previous visit to the capital of Tatarstan in 2019. He expressed interest in joint projects in the field of education, culture, tourism, high technologies and informatization. Mutually beneficial cooperation will certainly contribute to the development of the economic potential of both cities, the Mayor of Izmir noted.
