He reminded that last year, about 130 thousand tourists visited the republic for the New Year holidays. “We expect that this year there will be no less and even more”, said S. Ivanov.

According to the chairman of the State Committee of Tourism of the RT, the hotel occupancy during the winter holidays is 84%, on peak dates – 92%. On average, tourists book hotels for three nights.

Kazan residents and guests of the capital will be able to find an interesting program in the neighboring districts on New Year's holidays. For example, the stage of the championship of Russia on snowkiting will pass in Borovoe Matyushino. In Laishevo, tourists will be able to visit the St. Sophia Cathedral, the museum of local lore, as well as the set of the filming of the movie “Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes”. A costumed interactive program “Tales of the Great Bolgar” was prepared for guests in Bolgar. In addition, there you can visit new museums.
