A bone marrow autologous transplantation was performed for the first time in Tatarstan. The operation unfolded in the hematology department of the Republican Clinical Hospital.
The first two patients with myeloma from Arsk and Nizhnekamsk underwent transplantation of the stem cells. Their active production was stimulated by drugs after undergoing chemotherapy.
Bone marrow autotransplantation is performed for lymphomas, multiple myeloma and autoimmune diseases. Similar operations are carried out in medical institutions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Kirov and Irkutsk.
