Vladimir Putin suggests naming the new Tu-160M in honor of Mintimer Shaimiev

<p> Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant. </p> <p> The Russian leader visited one of the new workshops and inspected four overhauled Tu-160M strategic missile carriers. </p> <p> The president personally climbed into the cockpit of one of the planes. He suggested naming the missile carrier after the first president of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev. </p> <p> Vladimir Putin arrived in Kazan today. During his visit, Russian President will hold meetings with the leaders of a number of states, as well as open the Games of the Future. </p>
