(KZN.RU, May 16). On May 18, a one-act opera by Ilyas Kamal “Minem Taktash” (“My Taktash”) will be shown on the stage of the Tatar Drama Theater named after K. Tinchurin for the first time in Kazan. The new composition was created as part of the educational laboratory for young composers, singers and playwrights KazanOperaLab. The chamber opera on a libretto by Ruzal Mukhametshin will be shown in a full-fledged stage version.
The plot of the opera is based on life episodes of outstanding Tatar poet Khadi Taktash. When creating the libretto, excerpts of letters, drafts and some poems of the poet were used, as well as a poem written by the mother of the famous writer after his untimely death. The opera is performed in Tatar.
The main parts in the performance will be performed by Artur Islamov, a soloist of the Tatar State Opera Theater named after M. Jalil, Elza Islamova, a winner of the II Prize at the XXVI International Vocalists Competition named after M. Glinka, and Ilgiz Mukhutdinov. Artists of the State Chamber Choir of the RT conducted Milyausha Tamindarova and the Youth Orchestra of the Sforzando Foundation are also involved in the production.
The beginning of the performance is at 5 pm. Anyone can attend it free of charge, but this requires preliminary registration, reports the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the RT.
KazanOperaLab is a creative and educational laboratory for young composers, directors, artists and playwrights, implemented by the Foundation for the Performing Arts of the RT “Sforzando” with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the RT and the President of the RT. The laboratory opened in Kazan on December 7, 2017. In December 2017 and January 2018, the participants took an intensive program of lectures and master classes from leading Russian industry experts. Following the results of the first stage, the participants were divided into groups “composer – artist – playwright – director”. The work on creating new performances began in this order.
