Currently, the COVID-19 situation is assessed as stable having a tendency to reduce the number of new cases.

In Tatarstan, 5,704 people with suspected coronavirus infection remain under medical supervision and isolated. Today, the COVID-19 situation is estimated as stable having tendency to reduce the number of new cases, noted Milyausha Zamalieva, press secretary of Tatarstan Department of Federal Agency for Health and Consumer Rights, today at a press conference in the Tatar-inform News Agency.

Over the past day, 52 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Tatarstan, including 35 cases in Kazan. In total, 17,871 cases were registered with an increase in the republic, the growth rate is 0.3%. There are 457.9 cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people.

Specialists examined 3,124 people at the airports of the republic, of which 487 arrived from abroad. No people with fever were identified, M.Zamalieva said.

The republic and its capital are gradually reducing the number of beds for COVID patients, therefore hospitals can return to their regular work, said Dmitry Lopushov, epidemiological expert of the Tatarstan Ministry of Health.

The reduction in the number of cases is also affected by vaccination. Presently, 75,922 Tatarstan residents have been vaccinated, including 2,172 people over the past day. The second dose was received by 13,620 people, D.Lopushov said.
