В Татарстане пройдет более 300 мероприятий, посвященных Дню Победы

(KZN.RU, May 3, Ksenia Shvetsova). Preparations for the celebration of May 9 are being carried out in Kazan. More than two thousand artists fr om the city and the republic are expected to take part in the theatrical prolog that will take place on the Millennium Square, and more than two thousand servicemen and students of the cadet corps will be involved in the ceremonial march of the Kazan garrison.

Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, told at the briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT that the Millennium Square was again chosen as the main platform for the celebration of the Victory Day. This territory allows to accommodate a large number of guests and organize a convenient venue.

On May 8, a solemn republican event will take place at the Kazan Opera and Ballet Theater with the participation of veterans fr om all over the republic.

The most important and solemn day, May 9, will begin with commemorative events. At 8 am, solemn laying of wreaths and flowers with the participation of veterans, the leadership of the city and the republic will take place at the sites of military burial places in Arskoe and Arkhangelskoe cemeteries.

At 9 am, the laying of a garland and flowers to the Eternal Flame and a memorial to the mothers and widows of the dead soldiers will be in the Pobedy Park.

At 9.45 am, a large-scale theatrical show will open on the Millennium Square. It is a prologue with the participation of about two thousand artists of the city and the republic. The troops of the Kazan garrison will pass in solemn march, in which about two thousand servicemen and students of the cadet classes will take part. The event will continue with the passage of military equipment. This year's military technology will be used in the parade for the first time, including the caterpillar one: the tank T-34, the tank IS-3, and the legendary BM-13 “Katyusha”.

After the completion of the passage of the garrison at 11 am, a two-hour festive program with the participation of the creative teams of the city and the republic will take place. “For the second year in a row, the exposition of a military-patriotic exhibition is planned to be held on the Millennium Square. The modern equipment will be presented. It becomes a good tradition, and according to the experience of the last year, such an exhibition is very interesting to the citizens”, noted D. Fattakhov.

At 10 am, festivities in the Pobedy Park will begin, which traditionally last until 8 pm.

In general, on May 9, the festive program in Kazan will last till 10 pm and will end with a festive salute, which will last about three minutes. The best viewing platforms are the Millennium Square and Khakim Street.

In total, about 300 events will take place in Tatarstan, in which more than 650 thousand citizens will take part.

Also, it is planned to lim it the traffic in Kazan due to the celebration of May 9. Today and on May 5 it is closed until to 10 pm in connection with the rehearsal of the solemn parade. On May 7, the traffic will be limited from 9 am to 1 pm, on May 8 – from 6 am to 1 am, and on May 10, the Millennium Square will be closed for traffic. It is also planned to lim it traffic on the route of “Immortal Regiment”. More than 500 volunteers take part in the organization of the march, the regiment will pass along the central streets of the city about two kilometers.
