In 2018, malignant neoplasms during the clinical examination were detected in 1.5 thousand patients.
(KZN.RU, February 5, Alina Berezhnaya). In 2018, 16300 patients with cancer were detected in Tatarstan, which is 300 cases more than in 2017. Marat Sadykov, the Minister of Health of the RT, presented such data at the briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT today.
Every 35th resident of the republic is registered in the oncologic dispensary. More than 8 thousand children receive treatment in the onco-hematological department of the CRCH. According to morbidity statistics, 13.3% of cancer cases affects the skin, 13.2% – the colon, 11.3% – the mammary gland, and lung cancer occurs in 10% of cases.
“The fight against the oncological disease is complex and difficult. More than 16 thousand patients with cancer are detected every year in Tatarstan. Meanwhile, the mortality from malignant neoplasms has increased by 4%”, M. Sadykov said. He added that unfortunately, patients think about their health rarely and ignore medical examinations. Thus, last year, malignant neoplasms were detected in 1.5 thousand patients only during clinical examination.
The treatment and diagnosis of oncological diseases in the republic are of particular importance, said M. Sadykov. Thus, construction of the radiological building of the branch of the Republican Children's hospital for children has already begun in Almetyevsk, and this year it is planned to build an oncological center in Naberezhnye Chelny.
According to oncologists, cancer at an early stage is treatable in 80-90% of cases. “The possibilities of modern medicine are colossal, but they will not replace the early diagnosis. When cancer shows itself in the form of symptoms, it is often incurable, but it is possible to prevent the development of the disease in the early stages”, said Rustem Khasanov, the head oncologist of the VFD, the rector of the KSMA.
Thus, according to Vladimir, Zhavoronkov the head oncologist of the RT, the deputy head doctor of the RKOD, the patient, first of all, needs to give up bad habits, eat healthy food, shorten the time spent in the sun, go in for physical exercise and undergo a regular medical examination.
