This year, 3.8 billion rubles will be allocated for overhaul and construction of sports venues in Tatarstan

85 multi-purpose sports grounds, six modular ski bases and a football indoor arena are planned to be built in 2020.

In Tatarstan, 3.8 billion rubles will be allocated for the overhaul and construction of sports venues in 2020. This was announced today at a briefing at the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers by Vladimir Leonov, Tatarstan Minister of sports.

Upon the “Demographics” national project, 9 sports grounds will be built for the Ready to Work and Defense complex in the Republic. In particular, the Tasma stadium in Kazan will have new athletic track covering. Besides, in 2020, the Republican hockey sports schools will get new sports equipment.

Since 2013, a large-scale project for the construction of multi-purpose sports grounds has been implemented in the Republic with the support of the Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. This year, it is planned to build 85 multi-purpose sports grounds, six modular ski bases and one football indoor arena.

“In addition, a key event for the Republic in 2019 was the beginning of construction of four indoor sport venues, timed to the 100th anniversary of the TASSR. Two of them will be built on Chuikov street and on Tankovaya street in Kazan. Presently, an active construction is underway,” - the Tatarstan Minister of sports noted.

He also noted that a number of sports facilities are currently being designed, including Kazan venues.

About 500 million rubles will be allocated annually for the overhaul of sports facilities in Tatarstan. The corresponding overhaul program is settled for 5 years.

Already in 2020, it is planned to renovate 19 facilities and replace technological equipment at one venue. Other 8 venues, in particular, the Kazan field hockey Center and the Tulpar stadium, are being reconstructed beyond the overhaul program.

Tatarstan sports Minister emphasized that Tatarstan is Russia's leader in the number of skating rinks and pools.
