In the capital of Tatarstan, the Kazan City Council has traditionally joined this campaign.
(KZN.RU, March 27). According to preliminary data, during the action "Hour of the Earth", which was held on March 24, Tatarstanians managed to save 55 MW of electricity.
Recall, "Earth Hour" - the world's largest environmental action, initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in 2007.
Anyone could participate in the action –it is only necessary to switch off the lighting of living quarters, electric devices which aren't connected with safety of citizens for one hour from 20:30 till 21:30 and also to take other measures directed to decrease an electricity consumption.
In the capital of Tatarstan this action was traditionally joined by the City Council of Kazan- for one hour, the illumination of the buildings of the Executive Committee, the metropolitan City Hall and of the districts administrations was turned off. Permanent participants of an action are also the memorial estate "Kazan Kremlin" and other memorable city buildings. "Kazan Kremlin" and other memorable objects of the city, the architectural illumination of the buildings of ministries and departments was disconnected.
