During the New Year holidays, 160 tons of deicing materials were used in Kazan

In Kazan, due to the warm weather, the property management companies have increased the snow removal of yards with available resources. Iskander Giniyatullin, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, reported that the property management companies were instructed to keep sidewalks clear.

«It is necessary to clear the snow, clean the sidewalks, and then apply anti-icing materials to the territory. There is a lot of work today, however we provide all available equipment to yards and streets, – he said. – In the current weather conditions, it is difficult to clean sidewalks and driveways. If we don't do it now, it will be even harder to remove the ice later».

Iskander Giniyatullin also pointed out the need to clean roofs. For example, over the weekend, there was a case of snow falling from the self-installed balcony canopies of one of the houses. There were no injuries reported. «If the property management company is responsible for the original balcony canopies, then homeowners are responsible for self-installed canopies. I urge residents to pay attention to this, as snow accumulation on canopies should be avoided», – the speaker noted.

During the New Year's holidays, about 1,450 management company workers cleaned the streets of Kazan. 70 special cleaning vehicles were also involved. About 160 tons of anti-icing materials were used.
