A chess tournament for the Kazan Mayor's Cup takes place in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan

<p> The traditional chess tournament for the Kazan Mayor's Cup takes place in the IT Park. </p> <p> Sixty athletes will compete for the victory, among them European champion Vladislav Artemyev, Russian champion Alice Gallyamova, grandmasters Artyom Timofeyev and Juan Borges Matos. </p> <p> The tournament will run until August 30. </p> <p> For reference, last year the competition brought together 42 chess players. The prize fund of the tournament was 1 million rubles. </p>
