Today, on the first day of holy month of Ramadan, an iftar dinner was arranged at the Yardem mosque in Kazan for 2 thousand needy citizens. Due to the difficult epidemiological situation caused by the spread of coronavirus, iftar is held remotely. The volunteers will deliver hot meals to the Kazan believers.

The head of the city also spoke via video conference with children who received 54 tablets and smartphones for distance learning the day before.
“It’s good that in Kazan, those in need always find support from responsive citizens”
The Yardam foundation's project “Charity iftar with home delivery” was launched as part of the Road of life campaign. From the beginning of April, volunteers participating in the campaign have been delivering hot meals to Kazan citizens in need. Since the start of the Charity iftar, the number of meals that to deliver to citizens has increased from 800 to 2 thousand per day, and the food packages have become more diverse.
“The number of people who help their neighbors is growing in Kazan. This is very important, especially in difficult times that have come for the whole world – the Mayor said. - There are always those who need help: families with disabled children, the poor, large families, and so on. It’s good that in Kazan they always find support from responsive citizens”.
Iftar packages will be delivered to citizens by 70 volunteers
All meals are prepared and packed in special premises of the Yardem mosque. Professional cooks are involved in the cooking, while the foundation's volunteers pack iftar meals.
Volunteers also deliver iftar packages to the homes of citizens- today 70 people are engaged in this work. The Mayor of Kazan spoke with the volunteers and thanked them for their responsiveness. “You are doing a big and important job. We are all very proud that such caring young people live in our city, - I.Metshin addressed the volunteers. – This is a hard and responsible job. When you do good things, you’ll get a great deal back”.
“The Yardam charitable foundation is a prime example of systematic support, - Ilsur Metshin said. – Many other foundations in our city also sincerely help us. Today we are especially pleased to participate in a charitable deed. It makes my heart warm. Making gifts is always more pleasant than receiving them”.
