In the new academic year, a school for 1,500 students will open in the Sovetsky district of Kazan

<p> In the new academic year, one of the largest schools in the city, located on Yunus Akhmetzyanov Street in the Art-City residential complex, will open in Kazan. The modern educational facility is designed for 1501 students. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of construction works today. </p> <p> “The demographic growth of Kazan is a matter of envy for any metropolis: every year we increase by at least 10 thousand schoolchildren, and this academic year another 12.5 thousand children will go to school”, - Ilsur Metshin said. </p> <p> Construction of the school began in December 2019 under the “Housing” federal program. </p> <p> “As of today, all the construction works have been completed, the engineering support is 100 percent complete. It remains to install technological equipment – desks, chairs, textbooks, to make navigation”, - said Ilgiz Shafiyev, deputy director of the contractor organization Ak Tash. </p> <p> The Mayor visited the dining hall. The head of the Department of Food and Social Nutrition Rimma Mukhametshina shared the head of the city with the draft design of the school restaurant. </p> <p> Much attention is paid to the sports education of students in the new school: the school has two swimming pools, two gyms with fitness equipment and up-to-date flooring. </p> <p> On the third floor of the school, there is an assembly hall with 780 seats. For comparison, in the neighboring Saidas cultural center the capacity of the assembly hall is 510 seats. </p> <p> “Now every school is not just a palace of knowledge, but a real center of education, sports and culture. This new school has everything necessary for children: classrooms with very good equipment, swimming pools, gyms and a huge concert hall. A great project was designed by specialists, it will be a wonderful gift for children”, - I.Metshin noted. </p>
