National museum of RT will get acquainted with history of Kazan admiralty

Theme exhibition will open on July 26.

(KZN.RU, July 24). On July 26, the exhibition «Kazan admiralty: for the glory of Russian Navy» will open in the National museum of the RT in connection with the Day of the Russian Navy.

Everyone will be able to see some documents about the construction of the Kazan admiralty: the plans of structures, decrees and instructions of logging order, the XVIII century books «Marine Code» and «Regulation of the admiralty and shipyard control».

We will remind that the history of Russian Navy is inextricably connected with the Kazan admiralty (1718-1830) - the largest centre of ship-building on Volga created in the XVIII century due to the decree of the emperor Peter I. Since its establishment more than 400 vessels of various types were constructed in Kazan. Among them there are frigates, brigs, gardekotes, bomb vessels, galiots, luggers, heckboots.

The specific attention is paid to Volga river as the largest waterway of Russia. Among exhibits there are engravings and photos of the admiralty and large villages, the ships models, the navigation equipment , the ship-borne instruments, and the logging toolkit. The complex of the subjects of the ferry “Volgar'” draws attention which provided the only available transport between Kazan and right coast of Volga river for a long time.

The modern stage of shipbuilding in Tatarstan is reflected in the materials of the Zelenodolsk Plant named after А.М.Gorky, as the press-service of the National museum of the RT informs. The Plant was founeded in 1895 as the Paratsky ship repair facilities. Today the enterprise is the largest one in its sphere and introduces a significant contribution to strengthening of Russia's defence capacity and Navy formation at the present moment.

Thanks to the original documents and materials from the funds of the National museum, the Scientific library of KFU named after N.I. Lobachevsky, the Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts, the Russian State Historical Archive, the key phases of the shipbuilding history in Tatarstan are presented in the exposition.

The photographic exhibition «Searching for flooded ships of Persian campaign of Peter the Great» will get acquainted with the expedition organised in 2016 by the regional office of the Russian Geographical Society in Tatarstan under the direction of D.Shiller. During the researches the wreckage of the ships, the anchors and a gun were found at the bottom of the Caspian sea at the city of Derbent. They are relevant to the time of the Persian campaign.
