People lay flowers to the national memorial in the Leninsky Garden of Kazan

<p> (KZN.RU, October 18, Alina Berezhnaya). Kazan shares the deep sorrow of Kerch, where more than 20 people were killed in an explosion and shooting at a college on October 17. Citizens come to the national memorial at the fountain in the Leninsky Garden, lay flowers and light candles. Most of those who came to commemorate the dead are young people, students, members of youth organizations, teachers of educational institutions of the city. </p> <p> </p> <p> Laying flowers to the national memorial began yesterday. In the evening, students of higher educational institutions of the city came to the fountain. Today a banner with words of grief and the date of the tragedy is set there, there are candles under it, several posters with the words “Kerch, Kazan is with you!”, “Kerch. Tatarstan is with you... ” and photos of the college where the accident happened. </p> <p> </p> <p> The memory of the dead was honored with a minute of silence, and after that, they laid flowers at the national memorial. Leila Fazleeva, the deputy prime minister of the RT, Evgeny Varakin, the head of the Office of the Kazan Executive Committee, Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, Timur Alibaev, the head of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts’ administration of Kazan, and other representatives of the Executive Committee’s departments attended the ceremony. </p> <p> </p> <p> “This is a tragedy. Of course, Tatarstan, together with all of Russia, grieves. It is the pain of people, mothers, fathers, relatives, it is difficult to imagine your life without a child. Children died, and for Russia, this is a great loss”, Leila Fazleeva expressed her condolences. </p> <p> </p> <p> Earlier, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, expressed the words of condolences to the relatives of the dead. </p> <p> </p> <p> Yesterday afternoon, there was a series of explosions and shooting in the Kerch Polytechnic College. According to TASS, 21 people died, 44 people remained in hospitals on today’s morning. The Investigation Committee established that an 18-year-old student arranged shooting at an educational institution. The investigation of the case continues. </p>
