A meeting of the organizing committee for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the TASSR was held in the Kazan City Hall

(KZN.RU, August 16). The centenary of the TASSR is a milestone for the Republic of Tatarstan and its multinational people. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, announced it today at the meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and conduction of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the TASSR in 2020 in Kazan.

The meeting of the organizing committee was held in the Kazan City Hall. Vitaly Mutko the chairman of the Organizing Committee, the deputy chairman of the Government of the RF, Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, and others attended the event.

Opening the meeting, Vitaliy Mutko thanked for the program organized today. Right after arrival in Kazan, together with Rustam Minnikhanov, they visited a number of construction complex facilities, assessed the development of the urban environment and public spaces.

Tatarstan is always actively working on all projects, and the quality of their implementation is always very high, said Vitaliy Mutko. He also noted that the preparation and holding of events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the TASSR will allow demonstrating the generally recognized achievements of the republic, especially given the contribution of Tatarstan to the development of the country's economy.

Vitaliy Mutko said that the preparation plan for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the TASSR will consist of four sections, which will reflect 75 events. Thus, one of the sections will be devoted to cultural, educational and socially significant events. Another part of the plan concerns construction and improvement, said Vitaliy Mutko. In particular, the Cathedral Mosque will be erected in Kazan. In the near future, the construction of the temple of the Our Lady of Kazan Icon will be completed.

In general, all activities of the plan are designed for 2019-2020, said Vitaliy Mutko. “The authorities of Tatarstan are a team of true professionals who implement events of various scales skillfully”, he added.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, noted that for 70 years of this historical segment the republic existed in the form of autonomy of the RSFSR. These years have included a lot. There was a breakthrough in the development of the economy when industries were created and sustainable growth of agricultural production was ensured, significant changes in the social structure of society, the development of national culture and the formation of a special mentality of the inhabitants of the multinational republic. “The autonomous republic has become one of the forms of development of Tatar statehood”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “Then a powerful potential was created, which laid the foundation for the successes of the RT in the new Russia”.

During the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said that preparations for the anniversary in the region began in 2015. “We are grateful to Vladimir Putin, the President of the RF, for the decree on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the RT and for the creation of the federal organizing committee chaired by Vitaly Mutko”, he said.

The plan of the most significant events for the preparation of the anniversary includes international and federal projects, the preparation of scientific and journalistic works, cultural events, including those aimed at preserving the cultural and material heritage.

The President of the RT also said that the 100th anniversary of the TASSR is not only a regional holiday. Solemn events will be held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other regions of the country and abroad.

Among the major international events planned are the Games of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit”, the International Forum under the auspices of UNESCO “Cultural Diversity – a Factor of Human Security”, the forum of twin cities and municipalities of the BRICS countries.

In addition, a concert hall named after Ilgam Shakirov was opened in the building of the international exhibition center “Kazan Expo”. The National Library of the RT will move to the new building, the renovation will be completed in the building of the former Worker Theater (Alafuzovsky), where the theater “Constellation-Yoldyzlyk” will be located.

The 100th anniversary of the TASSR provides the opening of socially significant cultural and sports facilities, parks and squares, said Rustam Minnikhanov. All this will be a worthy gift to the residents of the republic. The heritage of the anniversary will have a beneficial effect on further improving the life quality of Tatarstan citizens.

The republic is waiting for many guests from Russia and foreign countries, especially compatriots on the anniversary. A hospitality infrastructure is being prepared for this. Participants of the anniversary events will be able to get acquainted with the unique material and cultural-spiritual heritage, which is of value not only on an all-Russian, but also on a global scale.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the successful experience of holding international forums and significant world-class sporting events in the republic gives reason to believe that the anniversary of the republic will be held at the highest level. The President of the RT is confident that it will be possible to implement all of the plans.

The organizing committee also showed a video about the RT, dedicated to the history of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and preparations for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the RT, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
