The opening match of the Golden Puck tournament takes place in the Black Lake Park in Kazan

Young athletes, players of the Ak Bars hockey club, sports veterans and representatives of the Executive Committee take part in the match.

The second Winter Sports Festival has kicked off today in the Black Lake Park. The opening match of the city stage the Golden Puck All-Russian competitions of young hockey players was attended by the players of the Ak Bars hockey club, sports veterans and representatives of the Executive Committee of the city.

Albert Salikhov, head of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports, welcomed the participants to the opening of the tournament. “On behalf of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, I am glad to welcome everyone to the big sports festival. Today, the best hockey players of our city have come here – 24 teams that became winners of the regional stages of the tournament. We wish you good luck!” - A.Salikhov said in his speech.

Mixed teams - Greens and Whites hit the ice. Among them were young hockey players, the head of the administration of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts of Kazan Fanis Nurmukhametov, the head of the Municipal Housing Inspectorate Alfir Shamsutdinov, Vice-President of the Tatarstan Hockey Federation Andrey Ryabov, as well as players of the Ak Bars hockey club Alexander Burmistrov and Dmitry Yudin.

The athletes played two periods of 20 minutes each. The Greens opened the score, the player Adel Demyanenko scored the first goal. The Whites were not willing to give up. Kirill Golubev, Russian hockey champion in 1998, executive director of the Tatarstan Hockey Federation, scored the most goals for the team.

The match ended with a score of 9:8 in favor of the Greens.

At the end of the match, young players were awarded with branded sticks, the winning team received the cup.

2,080 young hockey players and 103 teams are participating in the city stage of the Golden Puck tournament.

The Kazan stage of the tournament will end on February 20. It is held in two divisions – Sport, in four age groups, and Yard Sport, in three age groups. The teams that took the first places in the city competitions in each age group based on the results of the play-off matches in the Sport and Yard Sport divisions will take part in the republican tournament of the All-Russian competitions. Winners and prizewinners will be awarded with cups, medals and diplomas. The Kazan Hockey Federation has provided a total prize fund of 510,000 rubles.
