Twelve school canteens to be renovated in Kazan

271 million rubles were allocated for the construction work

By the new school year, 12 canteens in Kazan will be renovated and another school restaurant will open in a newly built school. The number of seats in these canteens will increase by almost 700. As many as 271 million rubles have been allocated from the republican budget for the construction works. Rima Mukhamedshina, General Director of the Kazan Department of Food and Social Nutrition, reported about this at a staff meeting.

“This year, we will renovate 12 school canteens, or as we call it now, school restaurants. When we first came up with this idea, it was difficult for people to understand how to organize restaurants at schools. Thanks to the national project and the personal attention of President Vladimir Putin, who announced that elementary school children should eat for free, we are implementing it. Thanks to Rustam Nurgalievich for supporting us. The modernization of school canteens has been underway for the fifth year under the law on providing free hot meals to elementary school students.”

The Department of Nutrition additionally allocated 53 million rubles for purchasing the equipment and furniture, reported Rima Mukhamedshina.
