One hundred and two ice rinks and fifteen ski trails will operate in Kazan in winter

Professional athletes will have access to hills with a height of 30 and 60 m in the village of Nagorny

This winter, 102 skating venues will be organized in Kazan, including 83 hockey rinks, 14 outdoor rinks and five ice palaces with rental points. Fifteen trails will be opened in the city, eight of which will be illuminated.

“We hope for good winter weather without warming which affects the work of ice rinks and ski trails. I am sure that there should be no problems with the maintenance of venues, each of them has its owner,”- Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said at the staff meeting.

Currently, residents of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan can skate on the ice of the Trudovye Rezervy stadium, where the largest skating rink of Tatarstan opened on November 25. The preparation of ice at the Raketa and Tasma stadiums continues. Also in December, ice rinks will start working at the Ak Bars Arena stadium, in the park of the 100th anniversary of the Construction Industry of Tatarstan and in Pobedy Park, in the Black Lake Park and on the Kremlin Embankment, where one of the longest ice rinks in Europe will be opened.

“An important issue is ensuring the operation of hockey rinks. 83 similar sites will be prepared this winter. Coaches conduct classes with children on hockey boxes at the place of residence,”- said Linar Garipov, Chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of the Executive Committee of Kazan.

“As of today, the snowmaking system has been successfully tested at the ski and biathlon complex in the village of Mirny, where everyone can train on tracks up to 5 km long. The complex is ready to welcome athletes and to hold competitions,”- the speaker noted.
