The Old Tatar settlement’s development concept will be presented at the “Tourist code of the city center” federal competition

The project provides for the improvement of the territory from Tazi Gizzat st. to Vakhitova Square.

Preparations for the “Tourist code of the city center” federal project are under way in Kazan. The concept of the development of 100 hectares of the Old Tatar settlement will be presented at the competition.

The Old Town Prefecture together with the Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism, the Committee for Tourism Development of Kazan, Aide to Tatarstan President Olesya Baltusova, Chief Designer of Kazan Zhanna Belitskaya, Deputy Chief Architect of Kazan Daria Tolovenkova, as well as a group of experts Committee are preparing the application. The prefect of the Old Town Settlement Yevgeny Varakin supervises the project.

The concept provides for improvement and decoration the historical center of the city on the territory from Tazi Gizzat st. to Vakhitova Square. As noted in the prefecture, the main goal is to create a unique tourist look of the historical center of Kazan, which will connect the territory Sloboda with a single style. “It will be a space with a modern navigation system and tourist trails, interactive sites and multimedia complexes,”- head of the Old Town Prefecture noted. The project also provides for the illumination of historical buildings, the installation of benches and bins.
