A free audio guide “Cinematographic Kazan” has been launched in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan

A digital guide will accompany tourists and residents of the city during walks around the center

An audio guide “Cinematographic Kazan” has been launched in the capital of Tatarstan, it tells centenary history of Kazan cinema. While walking around the center, tourists will learn about the first film screenings and attracting viewers, as well as why modern directors needed two trucks of dirt in the center of Kazan.

Listeners will learn about celebrities whose lives were connected with Tatarstan. In particular, Oleg Lundstrom led a jazz orchestra that played in Kazan cinemas before the sessions until the 80s, and Fyodor Chaliapin starred in silent films and played the main role in Don Quixote.

The audio guide covers more than 20 locations: parks, architectural monuments, pedestrian Bauman Street and Kaban Lake. The length of the route is about three kilometers.

The audio tour is conducted by theater and film actress, Honored Artist of Tatarstan Leysan Dusaeva. Urbanist, culturologist, historian, member of the working group on the creation of the concept of sustainable development of Kazan Enzhe Dusaeva, as well as the team of the directorate “Time of Cinema” also contributed to the production of the guide.
