A 64-year-old citizen obtained the driver’s license
In the first half of the year, the examination department of the Kazan Traffic Police Department provided 19,522 driver's licenses. Last year, for the same period, this figure amounted to 29,286 – the decrease is due to the automatic extension of the validity period of the rights for three years.
1,278 training groups were registered, 17,575 people decided to master driving skills. 64% of candidates passed the examination for traffic regulations on the first try (in 2022 was 52%), and 23.3% of candidates completed the practical part on the first attempt (45% in 2022).
According to the deputy head of the Examination Department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Kazan, police colonel Liliya Akhmetshina, 68% of those wishing to obtain the license of “C” category passed the examination for traffic regulations and 61% – the practical part. In “D” category, these figures were 70% and 79%, respectively.
8,229 state services were also provided to applicants who completed a course of professional training in various programs. Of these, 7,108 people became drivers for the first time.
“A 64-year-old resident, for the first time obtained a driver’s license. The oldest driver who applied to the Kazan examination department was an 85–year-old citizen,”- the Kazan Traffic Police Department reports.
