Half of the citizens who applied to the Employment Centers of the capital of Tatarstan in six months of this year have been employed.
In Kazan, 4,101 people have the official status of unemployed as at July 1– the number of unemployed has fallen by 2.4 times over the year. This was reported at the Business Monday meeting in the Executive Committee by Timur Mullin, director of the Employment Center of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan.
“The decrease in the unemployment rate is an important and positive trend”, - said the head of the Executive Committee Rustem Gafarov. “Today there are a large number of vacancies in Kazan, which gives confidence in the prompt employment of residents, including those left without work as a result of the termination of the activities of international companies in the country,” - he said.
The situation on the labor market in the capital of the republic of Tatarstan remains stable, Timur Mullin said. In the first half of the year, the registered unemployment rate decreased to 0.64%. Since the beginning of the year, almost 9 thousand people have applied to the Employment Centers, which is 4 thousand less than in the same period of 2021. Half of the citizens who applied, 4,300 people, were employed, said the director of the Employment Center. According to him, Kazan residents most often chose jobs in the transport, commerce, manufacturing, healthcare and construction industries.
More than half – 59% – of those who applied to employment centers were female. Most often, Kazan residents aged 30 to 54 are seeking for a job – 66%, and least of all – 7% – citizens aged 55 and older. In addition, teenagers and young people aged 14 to 29 are looking for employment, their number is 26%.
“The labor market in the new economic conditions shows that in six months of 2022 the number of vacancies decreased slightly compared to 2021”, - T.Mullin informed. The decline is recorded in construction, commerce, manufacturing, HoReCa industry and administrative staff. Along with the decrease in the number of active vacancies, the number of active employers is growing. As of today, 19,140 vacancies from 1.5 thousand employers are available in the employment services of Kazan.
According to the survey conducted by the Employment Center, 264 employers plan to free up 500 people and 1.4 thousand employees work in part-time employment. “This is caused by the disruption of logistics chains, the change of owners and the need for enterprises to rebuild their work in new conditions”, - the speaker explained and assured that the freeing up of workers will not lead to an increase in unemployment, since there is a possibility of redistribution of labor resources. “A number of organizations that have announced downtime are planning to rebrand in order to keep their jobs for employees”, - T.Mullin noted.
