<p> (KZN.RU, June 4, Alsu Safina). More than 3 thousand enterprises, more than 150 thousand people, and about 12% of the citizens took part in sanitary cleaning activities in Kazan. For two months streets, lawns, parks and squares, driveways and yards in Kazan were cleaned, garbage dumps formed over the winter were taken out. Just for the day of the city subbotnik, mass works were carried out in 75 city territories, cleaning of forest territories, coastal zones along the Kaban Lake and the Volga River was carried out. </p> <p> </p> <p> Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, reported at the Business Monday, 250 thousand cubic meters of various garbage were taken to the city landfills during the period of two months, this is about 11 thousand KAMAZ trucks. More than 36 unauthorized dumps and garbage dumps have been liquidated. On average, up to 4.5 thousand cubic meters of various wastes were transported daily to the landfills. During this period, the polygons took 15% more garbage than in the ordinary months. </p> <p> </p> <p> “All planned activities of the two-month period are fully implemented. Currently, daily work is carried out on the maintenance of facilities, improvement and preparation of guest routes and hospitality zones”, said Igor Kulyazhev. </p> <p> </p> <p> Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, thanked everyone who took an active part in the two-month cleaning program: enterprises, institutions, universities, concerned citizens, management companies, contractors. “The city has become much cleaner. Now the task is to maintain it. And I ask to support it not only on the guest streets but also throughout the territory of Kazan, remote yards, and settlements. We need to have this issue under control”, said the Mayor, referring to the chairman of the Housing Committee and the heads of district administrations. </p> <p> </p> <p> There are problems in individual yards, said the Mayor. “It's one thing when the residents themselves do not care about themselves. The other is when it happens because the contractor visits a certain territory on a residual principle. I ask you to keep these issues under control and pay special attention to it”, he marked. </p>
