A personal scholarship of Professor Davyd Mendelevich was awarded for the first time in Kazan

<p> (KZN.RU, February 18). The first scholarship named after Professor Davyd Mendelevich was awarded at the Kazan Medical University. The ceremony took place last weekend on the birthday of a famous researcher. </p> <p> </p> <p> Elina Mukhametshina, a resident of the Department of Psychiatry of the KSMU, and Ivan Mitrofanov, a post-graduate student of the Department of Medical and General Psychology, received an honorary award. It was presented by Boris Mendelevich, the son of the professor, a State Duma Deputy. He initiated the event together with his brother Vladimir Mendelevich, the head of the Department of Medical Psychology of the KSMU, an expert of the World Health Organization. </p> <p> </p> <p> Also, the opening of the room of D. Mendelevich took place on this day. Farit Ziganshin, the head doctor of the Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital, and Alexey Sozinov, the rector of Kazan State Medical University, attended the event. </p> <p> </p> <p> “We have been thinking for a long thought about a way to perpetuate the memory of our father, consulted with colleagues, friends. And, in my opinion, we have found a good solution. We established an annual nominal scholarship and named the room after him where practically his entire life has passed. Many thanks to the entire psychiatric community for their support and assistance”, said Boris Mendelevich. </p> <p> </p> <p> In conclusion, Professor Yuri Alexandrovsky, a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ph. D. in Medical Sciences, gave a lecture to the participants of the meeting. </p>
