Today, over 30 residential neighborhoods are in need of new educational institutions.
More than 30 residential neighborhoods of Kazan are in need of new schools. The issue is especially acute in Salavat Kupere, Salmachi, Solnechny Gorod, in the villages of Vishnevka, Privolny and in other residential complexes. To solve the problem, new schools are being built and the existing schools are renovated in Kazan every year. Today, the construction of schools is underway on Rauis Gareev Street and in the Stolichny residential complex. Irek Rizvanov, head of the Department of Education of the Executive Committee of the city, reported about this at the Business Monday meeting.
The construction of schools in Kazan has advanced further than in other cities, despite this, the problem of shortage of schools remains unresolved. According to the head of the Executive Committee Rustem Gafarov, the shortage of schools is one of the most pressing issues facing the city, which arose because of the baby boom. The construction of a new school is expensive, about 1.5 billion rubles are needed for one school, so the construction is carried out at the expense of federal programs and national projects on a competitive basis. “We are knocking all doors with the issue of construction new schools to inform our colleagues of the expectations of our citizens”, - Rustem Gafarov assured.
Today in Kazan, in addition to the construction of two schools, the approval of technical assignment for the design of schools in Salavat Kupere, on Rodina St., in Vishnevka and Svetlaya Dolina continues. “We continue to solve the problem of accessibility of schools to start construction of new educational institutions in these areas soon”, - the head of the Executive Committee stressed.
The designated schools for students is a forced measure to solve the issue of shortage of schools. “With a design capacity of 1,224 students, twice as many children study at school No. 186 in Solnechny Gorod. In the new school year, 100 children were distributed to schools far from their homes”, - Irek Rizvanov gave an example.
For the comfortable mobility of children in the city, school buses run on 43 routes. For two years, students of gymnasiums No.189 and No.188 in Salavat Kupere have been transported by a school bus from home to educational institutions and back. The same service was organized for 476 children of the villages of Vishnevka and Privolny.
For reference, the new school year in Kazan has begun for 165 thousand children, including 20 thousand first-graders.
