Classes for blind and visually impaired people started in Kazan

<p> (KZN.RU, February 1). Training and treatment rehabilitation classes for blind and visually impaired people have started in Kazan, on the basis of the training and rehabilitation center at the charity fund “Yardem”. This is the third class for the visually impaired, which is conducted within the framework of the project “Videt’ I Slyshat’ Serdtsem” (Rus. “See and hear with your heart”). </p> <p> Classes are highly in demand among blind people since there are practically no such centers in Russia. Thus, students came to Lazan from various regions of Russia: Saratov, Tver, Kurgan, Ulyanovsk, Kemerovo, Orenburg, Volgograd, Moscow, and Sverdlovsk Oblasts, Perm and Stavropol Territories, Republics of Bashkortostan, Mari El, Dagestan, Ingushetia, as well as from cities and districts of Tatarstan. </p> <p> </p> <p> The classes for the visually impaired teach to read in Braille, computer literacy, conduct psychological rehabilitation, provide medical care, and help with employment. A cultural program has also been drawn up for the participants with excursions and sports events. </p> <p> </p> <p> Last year, the project “Videt’ I Slyshat’ Serdtsem” became the winner of the grant competition of the President of the Russian Federation. </p> <p> </p> <p> Officially, the project started in June last year and will continue until September of this year. During this time, it is planned to train 5 groups of 225 people, reports the press service of the Muslim Religious Board of the RT. </p>
