“Gorky is an iconic figure for the history of Kazan. There are many places in Tatarstan associated with the name of the writer. We tried to cover the highest number of locations. We have our own specific features related to the experience that Alexey Maksimovich obtained on our land. For example, a curious project “Gorky Bread” which will be based on the site of the Museum of M.Gorky and F.Chaliapin,”- said the Tatarstan Minister of Culture Irada Ayupova at a press conference in TASS.
The festival will open on June 2 at the Tatar State Philharmonic named after G.Tukay. The Mossovet State Academic Theater will present a new version of the drama “Vassa”.
Sergei Vinogradov's version shows Vassa Zheleznova as a toiler who has worked all her life for the welfare of her family. But hell is paved with good intentions, which is what her life turns into at the end. However, the performance is not gloomy. Romances, songs and dance melodies will be played on the stage, making the history of the Khrapov-Zheleznov family easier and more understandable to the modern audience.
Nelly Pshennaya, Yevgeny Danchevsky, Vladimir Prokoshin, Irina Klimova, Alexander Bobrovsky, Vlad Bokovin, Lilia Volkova, Anna Garnova, Viktor Gordeev, Marina Kondratieva and Tatiana Rodionova appear on the stage.
Kazan State Theater of Young Spectators will show “Easy Man” and “My Universities” at the Gorky+ festival.
