Sharif Mazitov, the oldest citizen, was born in 1916
106-year-old Sharif Mazitov is the oldest resident of Kazan. He was born almost a year before the October Revolution – on November 19, 1916, and now lives in the Kirovsky district. In second place is the oldest women, a resident of the Sovetsky city district Gulyandam Mukhametova, born on March 15, 1917. On the third is Takdisa Gafarova, she was born on September 10, 1917.
As many as 90 people who are 100 or more years old live in Kazan. Among them are seven men and eighty-three women.
Moskovsky and Sovetsky city districts have a record number long-livers. They have 19 citizens are older 100 years. Another 14 centenarians live in the Privolzhsky district, 13 live in Novo-Savinovsky, 12 live in Kirovsky district. Eight Kazan residents, who are 100 or more years old, live in the Aviastroitelny district, and five – in Vakhitovsky.
