(KZN.RU, November 27). On December 15 and 16, the festival “Zemlya Rodnaya” (Rus. “Native Land”) will take place in the National Museum of the RT. Lectures and reports from experts of environmental and economic nature, performances of folk collectives and bards, master classes and a fair have been organized for Kazan citizens.
The public, social, ecological and cultural festival “Zemlya Rodnaya” is intended to revive folk traditions, develop a respect for native nature in people. The main objectives of the festival are to promote a healthy lifestyle and the idea of creating ecological neighborhoods, living in rural areas, uniting people of different nationalities and faiths through a creative exchange. The exchange of crafts, dancing, music, and clothing should be a consolidating factor.
Thus, the festival program included lectures and reports from environmental and economic experts, performances by folk groups and bards, and master classes. Kazan citizens will be able to master embroidery, beadwork, the creation of folk costume, pottery, wood weaving, wood carving, painting gingerbread, nettle tow, making products from birch bark, knotted batik (shibori), tapestry weaving, Gorodets painting on wood, and more.
At the fair, visitors could purchase exclusive hand weaving products using leather mosaic techniques, painting on wood, embroidery, beadwork, as well as jewelry made of stone, leather, felt and wool, reports the Ministry of Culture of the RT.
