Kazan will host BRICS Friendship Cities and Local Government Cooperation Forum

<p> On October 19 and 20, Kazan will host BRICS Friendship Cities and Local Government Cooperation Forum. The key topic of the forum is issues related to achieving the sustainable development goals in modern cities. </p> <p> The forum will be partly held via videoconference: the Russian delegation will meet at the site in Kazan, and participants from other countries will connect via the Zoom platform. </p> <p> Four modules (parallel sessions) are scheduled for October 19, where international experts will discuss topics related to the implementation of the sustainable development goals. The first module will focus on “Localization of sustainable development goals. Mechanisms for effective planning and management of the future of the city. Smart cities”. </p> <p> The key event will be a plenary session with the participation of representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent State Affairs<b>, </b>Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo)   and heads of cities – representatives of BRICS delegations, which will start the forum on October 20. </p> <p> It is also planned to hold an online concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the TASSR. </p> <p> The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo, the government of Moscow, the World Health Organization, the world organization "United Cities and Local Governments” (UCLG) and many others take part in the organization. </p>
