The Tatar national hospitality festival “MetrushkeFest” will be held in Kazan

Guests will enjoy a Tatar tea party, master classes, a meeting with ethnographers, a music program, and contests.

(KZN.RU, August 9). On August 11, Kazan will host the festival “MetrushkeFest”. Guests and residents of the city can get acquainted with the traditions of Tatar hospitality. The program of the event includes learning the secrets of Tatar tea drinking, where participants will be able to taste tea from spring water with herbs of the Volga region from old samovars; a dining-yard; master classes in the crafts of the Volga region; photo shoot in historical costumes; game music program; competitions, and lottery.

At the lecture, ethnographers will tell how girls with the boys meet in the Tatar villages, what songs they sang and sing, how they meet the guests, what utensils are put for them, and what is the Kazan embroidered towel.

The festival will begin at 11 am in the national complex “Tugan Avylym”. The admission is free, said the organizers.
