Donor campaign “Life Holiday” will be held in Kazan

<p> (KZN.RU, April 16). On the eve of the National Donor Day, the campaign “Life Holiday” will be held in Kazan. On April 18, students of the Volga State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism ready to become donors will be able to join the campaign at the Republican Blood Center. </p> <p> Donors can be students of 18 years and older and weighing more than 50 kg. It is important that they do not have contraindications for the procedure. You should have a passport and SNILS. Information on preparing for the procedure is available on the official website of the Blood Center in the Donors section. </p> <p> All students of the academy who wish to become donors are expected from 8 am to 12 pm at Prospect Pobedy, №85. </p> <p> The National Donor Day is celebrated in Russia annually on April 20. The holiday is dedicated to people who donate blood for the benefit of the health and lives of other people, as well as to doctors who carry out blood sampling and organize work in blood service institutions. The holiday was established on February 20, 2007, at the roundtable on the problems of donation and blood service in the State Duma of the RF. </p> <p> Every year more than one and a half million people need blood transfusions in Russia. In Tatarstan, about 50 tons of donor blood components are needed per year to provide medical care to more than 35 thousand patients, according to the website of the Ministry of Health of the RT. We remind that annually about 13 thousand Tatarstan residents take part in blood donation. About 12-13 tons of blood are collected only on the basis of the Republican Blood Center in Kazan. </p>
