Solar boat competitions were held in Kazan

Boats of 38 school and 7 student teams from 26 regions of Russia competed in speed and maneuverability.

(KZN.RU, July 1). The engineering competitions “Solar Regatta” were held in Kazan on the Nizhny Kaban Lake. 38 school and 7 student teams from 26 regions of Russia competed in the speed and maneuverability of the unique eco-friendly boats.

According to the results of engineering competitions among students in the Euroclass 1 “Electric”, the team “Solarteam NNSTU” from Nizhny Novgorod won the first place. The team “Solar Region” from Ekaterinburg won second place, and the team “Ecovolna” from Moscow won third place.

The team Manta Ray from Moscow won in the Euroclass 2 “Speed”. In Euroclass 3 “Experimental”, the first was the team “Togiatti Solar Team” from Tolyatti; second place went to the team “Manta Ray” from Moscow, and the team “Dalnevostochnaya Sova” from Khabarovsk is in third place.

The team from Nizhny Novgorod won “Solnechny Parus” won in engineering competitions among schoolchildren in the nomination “The Best Pilot”; the second place went to “Gals” from Murom, and the third to the team “Raduga” from Nizhny Novgorod.

The first in the nomination “The Best Pilot in the Experimental Class” was the team from Vladivostok “Morekhod”; the teams of Novosibirsk are in the second and third places.

The first place in the overall standings among schoolchildren was taken by the Novosibirsk team, the second place by the team “Extrimaly” from Vorsma, and the third by the team “Bez Straz” from Moscow.

The team “Briz” from Irkutsk won in the competition of unmanned solar-powered ship models among students. The team “Falcon” from Moscow took the second place, and the third were representatives of the TSU from Togliatti.

The first place in the nomination “Best Designer” was taken by the team “DDT Azov” from Azov. The second place was taken by the team “Aurora” from Karasuk, Novosibirsk region, and the third went to the team “TechUspekh” from Kaliningrad.

The first place in the 3D modeling competition was taken by the Novosibirsk national team. The second place went to the Nizhny Novgorod children's river shipping company from Nizhny Novgorod and the team from Samara. The third place was taken by the team of the school “Stupeni” from St. Petersburg.

The special prize “For the Authenticity of the Model” was won by the Moscow school №1502, said the organizers.

The competitions have been held in Russia since 2014. Engineering teams compete in speed, maneuverability and endurance of boats driven by solar energy. Earlier races were held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad, Veliky Novgorod, and Grozny.
